Looking Out

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

This is a song I wrote for me and my friends, while thinking about our move across the country. The memories we all shared will most definitely lead us on to new ones.

Verse 1:

The list is going well

I just hope we could all finish before March

I'm thinking about those nights around open fires

Underneath the stars

Those are the times that lead us on

Those are the times that lead us on

Chorus:It's been six long years and they have brought us here

And if you say farewell, I might shed a tear

Oh, come on lets go-lets not wait in time

Cause' our moments here as we sing this good goodbye song

Verse 2:
Summers were a blast

And don't forget all those times David, made us laugh

Epic Wednesday's where a plus

Filled with friends we all know

And I'll keep my birdman eyes

These are the times that lead us on

These are the times that lead us on

Bridge:

The best thing that you gave me, it wasn't just our name

Naw, it wasn't any dollar menu fry

It's got to come out heartfelt

I've got to say this right

The best thing that you gave me was your time

And these are the times that lead us on

My Start

Verse 1:
I had a friend, she lived in Penfield, out of my sight
And all my friends, they'll stay where she will, at home
I can not lie when I say I'll miss her
And everyone stays in mind
It is real when people shatter
So I don't want to cry

Chorus:
I guess I, gotta go
I guess I, should've known
This is where, this is where I'll find my start

Verse 2:
I see the city lights around me lighting my view
And I remember all our laughter and cries
You see, the world is waiting for me and you, just the same
We've got a song to sing out loudly in the one perfect name

Oh, start
This is where
This is where I'll find my start

We Live

Verse 1:
I see a remedy and it gives hope to bring
A love that conquers death-it conquers me
So don't believe in fear and everything you hear
You are a soul that's more than this life

Chorus:
We live-we trust
We try to rejoice with thus, who
Gave us the right to stand for what we believe
We live-we love
We bring to him those who don't
And we find the strength now to rise up again

Verse 2:
You clean the outside right
You need some help within
Don't believe in lies just to fit in
There is a higher call beyond the atmosphere
It's waiting to give hope
So trade in your tears now

Bridge:
There is a reason for love
There is a reason to live out loud
It's in the mighty above
The God of life!

My Heart Sings "I Am Free"

Is there a pattern for love and kindness?
A way of joy to hold onto.
Because my joy has been on mute lately
And I'm hoping for a breakthrough
I there a depth in a river of hope?
Or a height to it's loving waves?
Can a man swim through loves waters,
And not drown in caressing grace?

Like a soft word attracts attention
A quiet prayer of a youthful soul
It's extraordinary when eyes awaken
It's amazing when our hearts are whole

Not everyone lives for the perfect love
The perfect song of the one above
But it's a choice that we have all been given
To make a lasting covenant, sealed with blood
Not from our own but from the cross
Our blood we kept, our sin we lost

It's amazing the day I awoke and ran
To Loves arms of the one, I Am
It's true there is no depth to the love of Love
I breathe it now, it's all my heart is full of

It's more than the ordinary
So much more than any understanding
A force that makes you kneel and fall
A love powerful and demanding
No more will I believe in earthly lies
To long, have they made me blind
I am finally now, wide awake
And all fear I cast behind

What can I give to the one who saves?
The one who took my weary days?
These eyes have seen amazing things
I'm so in awe by what Love brings
Now, the Sheol has lost it's grip on me
My heart sings "I am free"
My Savior came and to me he loves extraordinarily!

I'm Waiting For My Princess

Verse 1:
I'm riding out now
Here on my stang, I'm headed out
It's almost seen now
My stars are surrendering to the Son

Is she really out there?
In a small town or a fortress heart?
I'll continue dreaming
And I'll pray she'll do the same for me

Chorus:
I was shattered once and broken twice
I will remain, I will remain
For you the fairest one of all
I will not faint, I will not faint

I'm waiting for my Princess

Verse 2:
My heart is bursting
It's leaking out and makes me smile
For the day when I see you
To the girl someday I'll say "I do"

Bridge:
As I wait here I won't wake up love
I won't wake it to soon
And when your here I will go with you
Through better and through worse!
